Peter Ruckman represents the cultic side of the King James Only belief. Not all King James Version only people support Peter Ruckman.

*Pastor David Cloud is in the KJVO camp, but he actually exposes the false teachings of Ruckman. I wanted to point out that all KJV only people do not support and believe the things that Peter Ruckman peddles.

David Cloud sums up some major problems with Peter Ruckman:

RUCKMAN HOLDS MANY PECULIAR DOCTRINES AND HAS A PROUD, CULTIC ATTITUDE THAT HE ALONE HAS TRUTHS THAT NO ONE ELSE IN CHURCH HISTORY HAS KNOWN.

In bragging up his book The Salient Verses, Mr. Ruckman makes these comments: “If you are able to obtain a copy [of Ruckman’s proposed new book] you will have, in your hands, a minimum of 200 advanced revelations that came from the inerrant English text, that were completely overlooked (or ignored) by every major Christian scholar since 90 A.D. This would include all of the modern Bible revisers (1800-1999), all of the faculty members and staffs of every major ‘Fundamental’ (Conservative and Evangelical) seminary, university, and college in Europe and America since 1500, and every Greek and Hebrew scholar (or teacher) since 1611. … Actually, if a Bible believer has this work he will have the accumulated knowledge of Cornelius Stam and Ethelbert Bullinger … Clarence Larkin and C.I. Scofield, Ewing, Osborne, Tilton, and PTL … Pember, Peters, Gaebelein, Pentecost, Lindsey, Kirban, Rockwood, Webber, and Van Impe … plus the Puritans, Reformers, major evangelists (Moody, Sunday, Finney, Torrey, Wesley, etc.) and all that ANY Greek and Hebrew scholar … ever found out–that was SO–in the last 200 years” (Peter Ruckman, Bible Believers’ Bulletin, Jan. 1994, pp. 2,4).

In The Unknown Bible, Ruckman claims to hold to 14 “biblical truths” which all other Bible teachers have overlooked. On page 347, Ruckman modestly claims: “Do you realize that in these last two chapters, you have learned a dozen things that were unknown to the greatest Bible teachers in the world? In 2000 years of church history, they haven’t even been able to find the passage which dealt with these things we have been talking about.”

Some of Ruckman’s long-overlooked “biblical truths” include the following:

(1) Angels are thirty-three year old males without wings; and all women in the Church Age will receive thirty-three year old male bodies at the Rapture.

(2) The plan of salvation for Tribulation saints is faith plus works and the plan of salvation in the Millennium is works alone.

(3) When the believer is born again, his soul is literally cut loose from the inside of his fleshly body. (Ruckman takes spiritual circumcision very literally!)

(4) Demons are winged creatures ranging in size from those of flies and mosquitoes to eagles and vultures.

(5) Sexual unions constitute marriage in God’s sight.

(6) The soul is an invisible bodily shape. “The problem is the word ‘soul,’ but since there isn’t one pre-millennial, soul-winning, fundamentalist who knows what a soul is (see the entire library of books published by Eerdmans, Baker, Zondervan, and the Sword of the Lord before 1970) … The soul in the Bible is an invisible BODILY SHAPE. In the Old Testament, the soul is almost synonymous with the body, for it is STUCK TO IT till death” (Ruckman, Problem Texts, p. 145).

(7) The flood mentioned in 2 Peter 3 is not Noah’s flood but is one that supposedly occurred at the judgment of the earth, when Satan was cast out of Heaven. He admits that no other Bible teacher has held this view: “Now who could get a message so simple all muddled up? Answer: Every major fundamental Bible scholar and teacher in the United States, without one exception. If you were to ask Henry Morris what the verses refer to he’d say Noah’s flood: ditto Harry Rimmer, Clarence Larkin, J. Vernon McGee, Swindle (sic), MacArthur, Bob Jones III … the Scofield Board of Editors” (Ruckman, The Unknown Bible, p. 67).

(8) “God has ordained on this earth 12 boundaries, with 12 nations, who are destined to leave this earth (transported by angels–Luke 16:22), and populate outer space infinitely and forever, beginning with the 12 constellations that are seen on the earth once every 12 months” (The Unknown Bible, p. 588).

(9) “In eternity, the Christian is in New Jerusalem; he is in his apartment house that is made out of transparent gold, like clear glass. … He is called out on trips, and these trips take him to Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Uranus, etc. transporting couples into gardens placing them down and saying, ‘be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth’“ (Ibid., p. 592).

(10) “I know they [demons] have to be small. … there’s two little animals that have wings. One’s a fly and the other’s a mosquito. Know what these things are? They’re pictures of demons. THE THINGS HAVE WINGS” (Ruckman, Demons and Christians, Bible Baptist Bookstore, 1976, side 1).

Some Ruckmanites have challenged me to refute the Ruckman doctrines we have cited. I don’t have to refute them; they are self refuting for the simple fact that they have no biblical authority, just as Rome’s dogmas of purgatory and the ascension of Mary are self refuting. Why should we have to refute nonsense? The Bible instructs us to avoid the foolish and unlearned questions of heretics (2 Tim. 2:23; Titus 3:9-11), and Ruckman’s new doctrines certainly fall into this category.

In his 1996 book Black Is Beautiful, Ruckman claims that UFOs are real. Ruckman believes that some of the medieval plagues in Europe were caused by UFOs, that a B-52 bomber was downed by a UFO and that aliens disemboweled the crew members, and that a crew member of a US Navy ship was transported into the future. He believes the CIA has implanted brain transmitters in children, old people, blacks, and prisoners (p. 243) and operates underground alien breeding facilities (p. 256). He believes in Atlantis (p. 171) and the Bermuda Triangle, time warps (p. 160), creatures with one eye (p. 173), web footed aliens, blue aliens with blue blood (pp. 85, 86), black aliens with green blood (p. 244), and grey aliens with clear blood (pp. 310-11). He believes that Adam originally had water in his veins instead of blood (p. 185). He believes that the government is involved with UFO animal mutilations (p. 247). He believes that black helicopters carrying UN troops are “circling your homes” with the mission of attacking and imprisoning the populace (p. 233). He believes the U.S. federal government has kidnapped people and kept them alive in “amber liquid” (p. 230). He believes that the CIA flies around in space ships developed from technology gained when the government made a deal with aliens to allow them to kidnap children and use their organs as food and to experiment on U.S. citizens (pp. 291, 295-297).(Source)

I am a opposed to the KJV only belief because it has no Scriptural support. I have no problem with people who are KJV preferred and/or only use a KJV. I have no problem with people claiming that the KJV is the best translation( I fully agree that the KJV is one of the best English Bibles). My problem is with the “only” belief.

*David Cloud is a brother in the Lord that I disagree with over this KJV only issue. I’ve had conversations with Mr. Cloud in the past which resulted in us simply disagreeing. Mr. Cloud has always been respectful to me even though we disagree. I just wanted to share this with my readers.

Thanks for pointing out that we’re not all fans of Ruckman. I brought a lesson on the KJV Wednesday. Maybe I’ll post it in the near future.

  3. As a former King James Onlyist, I know many people who are KJVO that are not fans of Ruckman.

I have friends from my former KJVO church I still talk to on Facebook etc… The pastor and I still talk and we still have a good relationship. We disagree on the only issue. I have no problem with people who only use the KJV. It’s an great TR line Bible just like the Geneva Bible.

I just prefer to CT over the MT texts. When you break down the whole issue of CT, MT, and TR it’s all about preference.

I personally study from the following Bibles:

    NASB(1995 update)
    1560 Geneva Bible
    KJV
    NKJV

Now there is a confused pup if I ever saw one.

All of those Bible contradict each other in many many places.
So you get to play a god and sit in judgment against the very words of God.
Well it is the other way around if you want truth.
It is God’s word that will judge us, not us judging the word of God.
      *******
Too many folk want to play the game of “I PREFER” and “pick and choose” what they prefer. All these multiversionists having MORE than one final authority.= confusion and every evil work.

      NIV?
You have got to be kidding.
      That satanic slop rag?
There simply hundreds and hundreds of purposeful errors in that one.
      Matthew 5:22
Well Jesus got angry several times. Pitiful.
Not only that, but the translators are very aware of all the changes, many have showed the errors to them, yet they do not correct.
That is 100% proof that they never were interested in the truth.

You need to do some serious heart searching if you are after the truth.

If you want the truth, simply pray to Jesus and ask for the truth and pick up the pure word of God and read in faith believing what you read.

Only the King James Bible is correct at every word.
Nasb, it has hundreds of ovbious pure bible truth errors even though they follow their corrupted text well.
NKJV is no better, and on top of that they epouse the New Age 666 Mobius on their cover. Plus the securities comission fined them some $400,000 for their improprieties. It departs from the textus receptus over 1,200 times, and this is just the NT, And all those changes are in the JW’s book as is the NIV,NASB, etc.

Every word of God is pure:

    • mrtelco1948 says:

The NIV is 100% man’s word, not God’s Word. A group of theologians sitting around a table deciding what the scriptures (thy use corrupted texts………..think Westcott and Hort) mean (in their opinion) and then publishing their opinions as God’s Word. Ludicrous. At least the KJV is a literal word for word translation that lets the reader interpret the meaning.

  4. Cliff says:

The truth is God communicates in the language of the people. Before the NIV was born or the ASV the King James which you ridicule was it.

Our first President used it, Lincoln used it, it is the book.

So by omitting the history power of the old KJV you make yourseld feel good.

    • brainouty says:

Cliff, then you should be reading in the Hebrew and Greek, going by your logic about Presidents. Washington read in Hebrew and Greek, as did the Adamses. That ‘tradition’ continued even through Theodore Roosevelt. In fact, Greek was required in high schools up through at least 1930, according to the Greek high school books I have from that period, one required for the entire state of New York.

Latin was required, too. So it’s surprising that Gail Riplinger, who is about my age (near 60), didn’t learn what Lucifer meant in high school Latin, which during our day was a required course.

So think again before you say something provably wrong. The purpose of learning the ORIGINAL WORDS PRESERVED is to get the same Words Christ had and spoke and gave to the apostles to write, fulfilling Jeremiah 31:31-34, expressed in John 17:17-23. It’s not rocket science. Five-year-old Hebrew and Greek kids learn it. And until KJVO was born, most of America learned it.

So KJVO=anti-semitic laziness. No kind way to put it, sorry.

  5. Cliff says:

God made only one bible for the English speaking people and it is not the NIV. KJV my friend!

  6. Cliff,

The KJV is just a translation like all other translations before/after it.

The bottom line is KJVOism has no Scriptural support therefore it relies upon prima scriptura. Those of us who are sola scriptura reject KJVOism because it has no scriptural foundation.

Where is the Scripture(s) that say that God made one bible for the English speaking people? Where is this found in the KJV? Where does the KJV even remotely hint what you are saying? The very men who translated the KJV would disagree with you.

From the 1611KJV’s To the Reader:

Some peradventure would have no variety of senses to be set in the margin, lest the authority of the Scriptures for deciding of controversies by that show of uncertainty, should somewhat be shaken. But we hold their judgment not to be sound in this point. For though, “whatsoever things are necessary are manifest,” as S. Chrysostom saith, [S. Chrysost. in II. Thess. cap. 2.] and as S. Augustine, “In those things that are plainly set down in the Scriptures, all such matters are found that concern Faith, Hope, and Charity.” [S. Aug. 2. de doctr. Christ. cap. 9.] Yet for all that it cannot be dissembled, that partly to exercise and whet our wits, partly to wean the curious from the loathing of them for their every-where plainness, partly also to stir up our devotion to crave the assistance of God’s spirit by prayer, and lastly, that we might be forward to seek aid of our brethren by conference, and never scorn those that be not in all respects so complete as they should be, being to seek in many things ourselves, it hath pleased God in his divine providence, here and there to scatter words and sentences of that difficulty and doubtfulness, not in doctrinal points that concern salvation, (for in such it hath been vouched that the Scriptures are plain) but in matters of less moment, that fearfulness would better beseem us than confidence, and if we will resolve upon modesty with S. Augustine, (though not in this same case altogether, yet upon the same ground) Melius est debitare de occultis, quam litigare de incertis, [S. Aug li. S. de Genes. ad liter. cap. 5.] “it is better to make doubt of those things which are secret, than to strive about those things that are uncertain.” There be many words in the Scriptures, which be never found there but once, (having neither brother or neighbor, as the Hebrews speak) so that we cannot be holpen by conference of places. Again, there be many rare names of certain birds, beasts and precious stones, etc. concerning the Hebrews themselves are so divided among themselves for judgment, that they may seem to have defined this or that, rather because they would say something, than because they were sure of that which they said, as S. Jerome somewhere saith of the Septuagint. Now in such a case, doth not a margin do well to admonish the Reader to seek further, and not to conclude or dogmatize upon this or that peremptorily? For as it is a fault of incredulity, to doubt of those things that are evident: so to determine of such things as the Spirit of God hath left (even in the judgment of the judicious) questionable, can be no less than presumption. Therefore as S. Augustine saith, that variety of Translations is profitable for the finding out of the sense of the Scriptures: [S. Aug. 2. de doctr. Christian. cap. 14.] so diversity of signification and sense in the margin, where the text is no so clear, must needs do good, yea, is necessary, as we are persuaded. We know that Sixtus Quintus expressly forbiddeth, that any variety of readings of their vulgar edition, should be put in the margin, [Sixtus 5. praef. Bibliae.] (which though it be not altogether the same thing to that we have in hand, yet it looketh that way) but we think he hath not all of his own side his favorers, for this conceit. They that are wise, had rather have their judgments at liberty in differences of readings, than to be captivated to one, when it may be the other. If they were sure that their high Priest had all laws shut up in his breast, as Paul the Second bragged, [Plat. in Paulo secundo.] and that he were as free from error by special privilege, as the Dictators of Rome were made by law inviolable, it were another matter; then his word were an Oracle, his opinion a decision. But the eyes of the world are now open, God be thanked, and have been a great while, they find that he is subject to the same affections and infirmities that others be, that his skin is penetrable, and therefore so much as he proveth, not as much as he claimeth, they grant and embrace.

  7. doug clabo says:

There are THOUSANDS of verses that the “other translations” leave out and they are NOT thees and thous! The list is as long as my arm but I strongly suggest doubters simply look up the issue on Google or I can list a few for you. IF God intended for today’s man to help Him out (and He doesn’t), those who profess themselves to be so wise should look at the omissions their “work” has done. It isn’t as simple as just “oh, we like the way this version says it”! It is the destruction done to the Word, the Message, and Salvation. We should all READ THE Bible, pray, and ask God for His Will in our lives and stop attacking those who are working hard to spread God’s message before it is too late. God could NOT be happy with these attacks, and they are many, so get busy doing God’s work and reading His Word while there is still time!

    • Steve says:

Ya know when I hear this argument…”that other Bible left it out…”, I can’t help wondering if a coin was ever made that was ONLY one-sided? It would seem to me, and probably anyone that thought rationally, that is there are TWO possibilites why something is in one Bible–but not another. What about this out of the box supposition? What if the KJV—-WAS THE ONLY ONE TO ADD THOSE VERSES?

Naw that can’t be it. What REALLY happened was ALL the other translators of the other bibles got together and came up with a conspiracy theory (all written in different places and times in history) and decided to leave out things just to mess with the KJVO folks. Right? LOL

Consider reading this article. Then decide:

      http://www.biblica.com/niv/accuracy/niv-kjv-verses.php

For all the in-fighting KJVO’s have caused in the churches because a “thee” or a “thou” was changed to modern english, at the end of the day if you read a verse (that actually existed in the first place) out of the KJV and have me read the same passage out of the NIV, $100 says at the end opf the day we’ll both end up with the same exact interrpretation and come to the exact same conclusion for what it said.

I listen to KJVO extremeist preachers espousing that 1611 English is best—“you don’t need to mess it up with modern translations.” But as soon as they read a passage in the Bible to you in a sermon—inevitably it’s followed up with them saying, “what that means is………”. If the Onlyist preachers themselves have to say it again in plain english—why object if one simply reads it in plain english in the first place??

BTW–if you’re looking for the one verse you’ll NEVER hear an Onlyist mention from the pulpit, it’s Psalm 68:11. Pretty hard to read that one out of their own bible, and then try to tell listeners that this “version” is the only one God likes.

  8. Doug,

All that typing and not one sentence against the heresy and lies coming from Peter Ruckman.

If God intended for the KJV to be the “perfect” Bible then God would have put this information in His Holy Word. As it stands, there is no scriptural support for the KJV only myth.

The sad truth is for many in the KJVO camp is that King James Onlyism pardons a multitude of sins and heresies as long as the offending party is a KJVOist. This can be seen how so many will pardon Peter Ruckman, Gail Riplinger, Sam Gipp, and Texx Marrs of their lies, heresies, false teachings, and greed.

  9. D.G.Lamb says:

I know a lot of people that use the KJV1611 and other Bibles. My problem is with errors in doctrine and omissions regarding the diety of Christ. For example in the NASV, in John 1:18 it calls Jesus a begotten God. Please see Isa. 45:21-23. Why would a believer tolerate that! Doug in Pensacola,Fla.

    • Steve says:

I have a question for you. If you love the 1611 KJV and have an ORIGINAL copy…look at Matt. 26:36. In it’s orignal publishing the translators of this “inerrant” VERSION—uses Judas–instead of Jesus in that verse. Why would a believer tolerate that–and still swear this is the inerrant, infallible, inspired by God best version of the Bible one can read?

I guess I have two questions. If you read the KJV (and I do too) look up Psalm 68: 11 and read the wording. The wording there in that verse would seem to indicate that God gave the word————to ALL the publishers of the various bibles, don’t it?? If the KJVO folks say theirs is the ONLY one God inspired—what do you do about Psalm 68:11???

I read the KJV–use it almost exclusively to teach out of, etc. so I have no agenda, but the addition of “O”–to anything—is extremeist. By defination and application, “extremeist” doesn’t define being Christian. It serves to isolate, insult those who do not agree with that view and create a schism within ANY church where you find this agenda. My wife and I recently left a church we called home for 15 years because we mistakenly hired a KJVO extremeist cultic preacher, and a spineless church board let him take total control of the church. The congregation 5 months ago was 150 regularily attending—tithing—parishioners. Today it has 28 members left and is facing foreclosure.

The more I hear Ruckman’s cultist cheerleaders defend the policies and the nman that spews out new “preacher’s” that do this to churchs–and ours is not the only one BY FAR this has happened to in our area even—-the more it bothers me that Satan is in such control of our fellow “christians”. I will add you to my prayer list as well.

  10. D.G. Lamb,

Do you agree with Peter Ruckman? Do you speak out against his heresy and false teachings?

As far as the your example, I too can make the same claim about the KJV being weak referring to the Deity of Christ. See: Why King James Only? Part One.

Also we can examine Jude 1:24-25

    Jude 1:24-25 (King James Version)

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:24-25 (New American Standard Bible)

24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,

25 to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

  11. Doug Lamb says:

Your answer about John 1:18 was a none-answer! To call Jesus Christ a begotten God is Heresy! To dodge and weave and say that the KJV 1611 is weak is evasive. P.S.R. can answer for any errors he makes. But I can not abide a book that says that there is a Big God and a little god. (Can you?) If God did not “preserve” his words intact for the Last Days, then he lied throughout the Bible! Please see Proverbs 30:5/Psalm 12:5,6 in the AV111 Bible Doug Lamb

  12. Ralph Riley says:

Perhpas the best understanding of “begotten” is in its contrast in the Jewish view against “created”. Begotten is “of the same kind” – namely, God himself. Created is the contrast.

  13. Edgar says:

The rejection of God’s word is very consequential, and the acceptance of versions is likewise. Strong defenses for the many versions are the message is the same, easier to read, and older manuscripts support, which deceives many. An enormous lack of knowledge on the subject pervades the deception of these defenses of versions, and has intuited the ignorance of society to the despotism of the pastors in the churches.
No greater act of unbelief is possible when one rejects God’s word and no greater darkness is there when one remains therein. Pastors, theologians of high esteem with PHDs, denigrate the words of God so as the insert there esoteric correction of it, with their own translation of the Greek and Hebrew. Such excuses as the words are out dated, or are archaic, and versions correction that problem, ignoring the purity God has annotated in his preservation. Redefining, and burning one word at a time, to confound the hearer into believing a message that even the devil believes, how appropriate.

  14. Edgar,

I’ve said for many years,”King James Onlyism pardons a multitude of sins and heresies as long as the offending party is a King James Onlyist.” Your post fortifies this statement. Peter Ruckman is a racist heretic and a false prophet.

  15. tim says:

The KJV came out to get rid of the cultic garbage found in other bibles. Great
men like Peter Ruckman has shown to light the different hersies in other translations.
The KJV came out during the church age of Philadelphia, only when the people
who wanted to part from catholic dogma. The AV is without error. Any fool who
thinks the NIV, ASV, and other corrupt bible, is superior or equal to is a babe in christ
or an idiot. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KJV BIBLE. There is power under a King, this is from proverbs. I will galdlky burn your NIV for you, or I will use it when I run out of
    toilet paper.

  16. The above post is a clear example of idolatry.

  17. Without using a Bible dictionary or a concordance, or asking your friends read Hebrews chapter 4:8 and Acts chapter 7:45 in the KJV and tell me if these verses are sound doctrine? As most of us know when a word is in italics in KJV it means it is a word added by the translators……added words in KJV???……if we look in John chapter 18:5–8 we can see the added word….. HE …..denies the deity of Christ more than once.. Why add any word to nullify a strong proof of the deity of Christ….thank you and God bless you and all your loved ones forever in Christ Jesus all forever in

  18. Jason says:

I’m KJO by personal conviction. The “Only” for me means, that’s the Bible I believe, try to practice, and demand be used in all our services. We don’t check Bibles at the door lol & If you want to use something else (I think you’re working at a disadvantage but ultimately) that’s between you and God.

  19. Jason,

Since the subject here is Peter Ruckman, please address the issues I brought up in the YouTube video I posted to my blog. I would like to know what you think about this vile racist Peter Ruckman.

I have other posts that deal the with false KJV only doctrine. You are welcomed to post to any of those. I am curious as to why you say those of us who use other Bibles are at a disadvantage. Perhaps you can explain your statement to me over at this post called Perversion coming from the pulpit is far more deadly than poor Bible translations.

  20. James King says:

If anyone would care to check out the Watchtower cults Bible (they are not Jehovah’s witnesses they are witnesses against Jehovah) please turn to Acts Chapter 2 in the cults New World translation and read it closely–and compare it to the King James Version and you will see a more definate proof of the diety of Christ than in the King James Version. You will notice in Acts 2 Peter is speaking of Jesus Christ and quotes what David said about Jesus Christ. Also i might add that most of KJV only people I know are very cultish and do not want to use reason–And they brag about Ruckman…”even Ruckman says……” One Pastor I know starts al;most every sermon on sunday with a statement promoting KJV and sometimes says all other translations are demonic.

  21. James King says:

i like Jason’s attitude……. In the KJVP church I attended the pastor seems like he was PR man for KJV. He also said not to talk to anyone about KJV– or leave. Very cultic attitude. I have seen this type of atitude with Stewart Trails Church of the Bible Understanding and other cults…i like to learn KJV scripture by heart and quote them verbatum……..here is one verse I would NOTquote verbatum….it is in error in KJV……..” For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:8 (KJV)……Jesus Christ DID give us rest…..this should be Joshua (son of Nun)

  22. James King says:

4 “Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? 5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am HE And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. 6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am HE, they went backward, and fell to the ground. 7 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. 8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am HE: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way….”:
John 18:4-8 (KJV) ……… this site did not copy verses exactly as are in KJV…In KJV the words I capitalized are in Itaics ( meaning they are added by translators to clarify verses.) It is unecessary to nullify the diety of Christ in this manner. Leave out the italicized wotds KJV tramslators and you promote the diety of Christ —-add them as you did and you demote the deity of our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST GOD IN THE FLESH….If you are a KJVO person how do explain this away?

    • Jason says:

since there’s not a “Joshua” in the NT, why not assume the OT gets it wrong in saying Joshua instead of Jesus? Moreover, if spelling and pronunciation is an issue, what are you going to do with Mt 2:17; Mt 27:9 where the prophet is called Jeremy vs. Matthew 16:14 where the name “Jeremias” is used? Just food for thought.

  23. James King says:

Some KJVO people can be very rough…one KJVO Pastor wanted to get some guys together and beat some other Pastor up……..Another KJVO Elder called a Christian a filthy name in front of men and woman….so far hehas not apologized…….we are to love one another. I give out free KJV bibles and if someone wants modern emglish version i will give it to them …..much better than giving them Playboy to read…..come on saints let us grow up and love one another. There once was a ruckus in a KJVO church and as the threatened person was leaving he said he had no fear because He had Jesus on his side one…. of the KJVO men said we Have 38’s (pistols) wow we are in grave trouble because we lack love for the brethren..

  24. James King says:

I must add that not all KJVO people are alike. Even if some of them act unusual we are to be kind and loving to them and not get into caling them rude names or use vulgarity………some KJVO people say women are not to teach,,and then quote a woman”s book……a lady named Gail……if a person is KJVO why would they use a concordence or commentary or dictionary–and why would they add to it in every sermon….by explaining scriptures……..and telling congregation what this verse means or that verse means……ask your KJVO person to explain John 18″5-9 and Hebrews 4:8 without changing the verses and not going to commentary, or dictionary espceially ask them if Hebews 4:8 is true as written in KJV???? If is in error then what wil they do next…promote blatant error? One fellow says even the errors are put there by God in the KJV??…Sometimes peoples minds are made up and will not listen to facts and truth

  25. Mark says:

    Sola scriptura toilet paperola!

    • And the Pope smiles when people denounce sola scriptura. But hey, at least you are promoting prima scriptura which is the only defense for KJVOism; you line up 100% with the RCC in order to defend a false doctrine based upon the imaginations of a SDA cult leader.

And the KJVO show rolls on…………………..popcorn anyone?

  26. James King says:

Why quote the lives and habits of Washington, Lincoln and others, according to history they were not Christians. It is reported that Washington was a Mason and Linclon was involved in seances….who knows?….. Read your bible and check yourself out– and your life out. Witness about Christ. Win souls. Live a righteous life and love your neighbor as yourself…….and be ready to meet the LORD GOD Almighty. We are all a heartbeat from eternity. Make a stand for Christ…..God’s word said defend the FAITH not defend a translation. USE YOUR TIME TO WARN PEOPLE AND LEAD THEM TO CHRIST…. some of us may have unsaved loved ones who need salvation. Pray and fast for souls. God bless you all– and all your loved ones for ever in Christ Jesus

    • James,

Interesting that you brought up the early leaders of the US. Many Christians have the misconception that America was founded upon Christianity aka religion. The concept of freedom of speech and freedom of religion was borderline heresy in that day.

You are spot on about spreading the Gospel. Over the years, I have witnessed KJVOist perform all sorts of circus acts in order to defend their false doctrine. The worse of the lot are dishonest and will say anything to protect the KJV only lie.

  27. Mark says:

You forgot to post what David Cloud wrote about people such as you at the end of his article:

    CONCLUSION

While I have serious problems with Dr. Ruckman, I also have serious problems with many of his detractors. Many of Peter Ruckman’s most bitter enemies are trying to discredit the idea that there is an authoritative Bible anywhere in the world. They have their own rotten agenda, undermining men’s faith in the preservation of God’s Word (in any practical sense) and attempting to pollute their minds with the strange, unscriptural, convoluted theories of modern textual criticism.

“Who, then, can we trust?” some might be thinking? The Word of God says, “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm … Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is” (Jer. 17:5, 7).

Man is defiled even at his best. Our confidence must be in Jesus Christ and in His eternal Word, and let no man shake your confidence in that.

You and folks like James Snowwhite make yourselves cursed by standing against Bible believers’ and their love for the AV 1611. Prov 27:17Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.

my pastor was trained by dr ruckman. no other school would have attempted to train my pastor because he has dyslexia and could not read. he learned to read out of an old archaic king james bible and amazingly understands it without needing any modern easy to read versions. he has been preaching for 50 years now and has always appreciated the opportunity that only that heretic ruckman would give him to go to his institute…all the rest would not touch my pastor with a ten foot pole, after all..what use is a full grown man who cannot read. the pastor who has given me straight bible preaching for 29 years of my life would not be in the ministry without dr ruckmans patience love support and friendship. i now work as a missionary in mexico and street preach weekly, go soulwinning and do the best i can to serve my lord and saviour, in large part due to my pastor. i do not blindly follow dr ruckmans teachings and sometimes disagree with him, but i do thank the lord that years ago he believed that god could use an illiterate man to one day serve the lord as a gracious considerate faithful pastor. one day we will all hit the judgment seat and give account, and thankfully i am to busy in mexico to have time to worry about that terrible heretic ruckman, im just thankful for the time he spent training my pastor when no one else would.

  29. James King says:

Jason I must tell you that the Strongs concordence does not show Joshua in the New testament. that is why i wonder about James Strong: If he read Hebrews chapter 4 verse 8 he would have noticed it was supposed to be Joshua, or Strong may have been of the Seventh Day persuasion. Jason there is another place where Strong forgot to put the name Joshua and that is in Acts 7::45. In reality there are at least two places in the New Testament where the word Jodhua is………. And I have found in the KJ Versions;Jesus in Hebrews 4:8 and Joshua in one King James version and Jesus in another. ……..One KJVO preacher in excuse of error in Hebrews 4:8 said well Joshua and Jesus mean the same thing. Well then why do we witness in Jesus’ name and not tell people Joshua Loves them, or Joshua died for your sins. …….As one commenter here said if KJVO people really believed KJV ONLY they would not preach or teach ,but only read scripture to their followers. …..One KIJVO pastor I heard preach quotes and reads sciptures very fast. but when he comes to the part in sermaon for his own words he slows down and talks slowly. Another preacher of fame quotes and reads scripture and instead of finishing reading the verse he says etc..etc…wow we must have reverence for God’s Holy word…I kkw of one person from another country who is having a hard time reading english and prefers a more modern english….Should I tel lthis person buzz off I cannot read anything but KJV to you?

    • Jason Elder says:

RE: Strong’s – Yeah, Strong’s Concordance is quirky. I notice that a lot using SwordSearcher with Strong’s links. (Great program btw) Which KJV edition has Joshua in Heb 4:8? I don’t doubt it’s there, I just can’t put my hands on any of the non-Cambridge texts at the moment.

“Should I tel this person buzz off I cannot read anything but KJV to you?” Are you asking me? No. Why have foreign speaking missionaries if so?

  30. James King says:

The commentor Tim, said he would burn a NIV or use it for toilet paper….this is almost typical of fithy cultic crude talk. Does Tim realize he would be using pages that affirm the deity of Christ in this vile manner. And he would use as toilet paper the gospel message. ? That is definate proof of what we anti-cultist are trying to reveal to our brothers and sisters in Christ. If you condone or confirm this type of crude fithly talk; you had better repent

  31. James King says:

readers compare this scipture quote from the Watchtower cult’s bible The New World Translation with the KJV and ask yourself which version affirms the deity of Christ in a stronger way…………..NWT Act Chapter 2 …….Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Naz·a·rene´, a man publicly shown by God to YOU through powerful works and portents and signs that God did through him in YOUR midst, just as YOU yourselves know, 23 this [man], as one delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, YOU fastened to a stake by the hand of lawless men and did away with. 24 But God resurrected him by loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to continue to be held fast by it. 25 For David says respecting him, ‘I had Jehovah constantly before my eyes; because he is at my right hand that I may never be shaken. 26 On this account my heart became cheerful and my tongue rejoiced greatly. Moreover, even my flesh will reside in hope; 27 because you will not leave my soul in Ha´des, neither will you allow your loyal one to see corruption. 28 You have made life’s ways known to me, you will fill me with good cheer with your face.’…..we read here Peter speaking of Jesus Christ and it says that David said of HIM calling Jesus ….Jehovah…keep in mind the watchtower people are not Jehovah’s witnesses….they are witnesses against Jehovah……so please don’t call evil good

  32. James King says:

Jason, that was not a yes or no question. I certainly would give them any Bible that would make it as easy as possible for them to get in the habit of reading and meditating on God’s word. This person is here in USA and said they would like to read a simpler english bible like NIV, so my idea is not to discourage them, but encourage them to get into any translation they want to.. I will look for the 1611 KJV that has Joshua in these verses I mentioned and post here the publisher’s name.
thank for comment. May God richly bless you

I find it difficult to believe that the Circumcision of Christ is on that list.

My job is to give the people the truth. What they do with that is up to them. I will not be a part of a false witness for the corrupt Bibles, I simply call them corrupt and they, like a corrupt tree, bring forth evil fruit.

  34. Your physio will guide you in how to progress those particular movements.
There are some pretty good ones out there so do your homework and you
should be fine. In the case of lower back pain and back injury, traditional acupuncture has been shown to be effective in providing
pain relief for both acute and chronic pain, back aches and
    back spasms.

  35. Hi there! This is my first comment here so I just wanted to give
a quick shout out and say I truly enjoy reading your articles.
Can you suggest any other blogs/websites/forums that cover the same subjects?
    Thanks a lot!
