I can not describe my feelings about Brad Cooper’s defense of cussing and using foul terms like “bamf” to describe the bride of Christ. I am lost for words at the rebellion, carnality, and pride displayed in this quote from Brad Cooper.

No where is the Scripture sighted in context as a defense. He did reference Luke 6:45 but totally twisted it out of logical context.

Brad Cooper may have changed his view as to what filthy speech means, but God’s view does not change regardless of Brad Cooper’s humanist explanation based upon the shifting sands of “the ends justify the means”.

Let’s look at God’s Word and see what God said about our speech and testimony.

Titus 2:5-8 (New International Version)

5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

6 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

Using bad language like “bamf” to describe the church is not soundness of speech. Those outside of the Christian faith even condemn this type of filth. This term is so vile I could not put it on a public billboard because of profanity laws.

Titus 2:11-15 (New International Version)

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

Brad Cooper’s distortion of the Word of God leaves the door open for ungodliness and worldly passions. The cussing he is defending is vile and ungodly which is in clear violation of God’s clear commandments found easily in His Word.

Colossians 3:8 (New International Version)

8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

God clearly meant what He said regardless of how Brad Cooper wants to redefine God’s Word.

I was not required to dig deep into the Bible to refute Brad Cooper’s carnal defense of cussing.

It is clear to me that Brad Cooper is not interested in obeying the Scriptures. His defense and distortions of profanity is vile in itself because it only requires the speakers’ intention regardless if the words spoken are offensive to those who hear it. This is against what the Scriptures teach us as Christians.

First of all, this is a minor offense and you should maybe chill a little. There are tons of things in the Bible that I would bet money on that you don’t follow. Some things just aren’t as important as other things. (If you want a list of things/verses Im talking about, I can do that but its long so kind of a waste of time at the moment.) I don’t think its nearly as bad to use a popular acronym that has some questionable words in it as it is to direct hateful words towards someone. Id rather say f&^% s&^% ass a hundred times than to say hateful words to someone once. And yes I am Christian and I read the Bible.
Secondly, he may not have known what it meant until after he posted it or maybe he’s just trying to be relevant. In both situations, he has good intentions so give him a break.

I have been in the ministry over 30 years and never have I witnessed such vile, reprobate minded people that come from the Perry Noble group. This fad will come, grow and some scandal will bring it down. Because the house that is built on the sand will fall. History is full of misguided, barely religious, smart mouths who make light of traditional Christianity.

Sadly, the reason why there are so many followers is because for the most part the followers do not know the scriptures and or follow them ,otherwise they would see right through Perry Noble. So as HIS (Perry’s) church grows it only shows how desperate and how ignorant his followers are. No educated Christian would take such badgering from a self-worshipping pastor as PN. The only good advice that I heard from him was to find another church.

You have clearly read the parable Jesus spoke about the house built on solid ground and the house built on Sand. Perhaps you’ve also, then, read the story in Matthew 12, starting at 22. One thing Jesus says that, even used in proper context, applies to what you just said. At Matthew 12:22, he says “Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart..”. Is the Church, Jesus’ Bride, not a family? So why do you all attack Newspring and Perry so? He is not perfect. Everyone. EVERYONE at Newspring accepts that. He has publicly apologized for his sins for us as well. You judge him much too quickly, Kevin Petty, and everyone else. He is the best pastor I’ve personally ever had.

  3. Newspring Attender,

So the old “Nobody is perfect” simply covers Brad Cooper’s distortion of the truth in order to defend his cussing and filthy acronyms that James Duncan(Research that name to see true NewSpring leadership love”) and I called him out on publically. Brad’s little blog, that I referred to in this blog, was a direct result of the pressure that Mr. Duncan and I put on NewSpring’s leadership. I even offered to meet with Cooper personally at my expense and said that I would conform to where and when he wanted to meet. I was deleted from his blog and never got a response. Instead of apologizing to the parents that trusted FUSE to teach their children how to be godly, Brad introduced them to BAMF! When pressured by the community, instead repenting of this sin, he came up with the garbage I exposed in this blog. The waters of New$pring church are sour to the core, this is easily seen in Noble, Cooper, and his core leadership.

I really feel sorry for you if you think Perry Noble is a good pastor. You might want to research the Word and truly ponder the role of a pastor.
