False Teachers and Their Destruction

1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

More shocking footage of spiritual deception – Rick Joyner, Todd Bentley, John Scotland, the Toronto Blessing, IHOP, Bethel church, Morningstar and more! -PART 2 of this documentary shows how this deception invaded more and more through the Lakeland revival and other movements. Please help warn the Body of Christ. Share this video with your friends.
Key groups or leaders involved with this “invasion”-john crowder, joshua mills, the new mystics, bill johnson, bob jones, sid roth, peter wagner, prophetic apostolic “false prophets” “todd bentley” “lakeland revival” “rick joyner” morningstar “toronto blessing” “new age” cults “new mystics” “john crowder” “eastern mysticism” ihop “mike bickle” “patricia king” renewal awakening revival “the river” “bob jones” “john paul jackson” “sid roth” supernatural “peter wagner” “dutch sheets” “holy spirit” pentecostal guru(source)

This is another example of Patricia King’s terrible misunderstanding of the Scriptures. By not rightly dividing the Word of God, it opens the door to many errors and false beliefs (2 Timothy 2:15). This is why we must study the Bible in context so that we can avoid gross errors like what is currently being taught by the “signs and wonders” movement (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

We do have direct access to Heaven through Jesus Christ the Lord (Hebrews 4:14-15). We can go directly to Him through prayer (1 John 2:1). This whole notion of us ascending into Heaven as taught by people like Patricia King is wrong.

As always, the marketing scheme rears its ugly head when we deal with false prophets/teachers. Why do we need to buy their products in order to gain understanding? The short answer is people who peddle these signs and miracles and new revelations really do not want their followers studying the Bible without their influence. To achieve this type of control over their followers, they employ all kinds of false signs and shenanigans (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12).

My advice for anyone involved in this movement is this: study the Bible without any study guides, daily reading plans, marginal notes, or commentaries. Solely depend upon the Holy Spirit to guide you as you study and meditate upon God’s Word. Seek the Lord through prayer and the deep studying of His Word.

1 Corinthians 14:33 (King James Version)

33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

I’ve said this many times in the past, please pray for these people who are deceived by the “signs and wonders” craze. I have personally witnessed its destructive power at work through some of my family members. It is heart breaking to watch loved ones send money to these false teachers, hoping to receive some sort of special anointing and healing.

Let us pray that God brings these false teachers to true repentance and ask God to deliver those who are deceived.

Rick Joyner “Releases” Todd Bentley Back Into Ministry (source)

Posted on August 18, 2010 by Chrystal Whitt

Well, I guess the “restoration” of Todd Bentley is complete, because Rick Joyner is “releasing” him back into ministry.

Here are a couple of observations:

  1. Rick Joyner restored Bentley, not God.
  2. Rick Joyner didn’t truly “restore” Bentley…only God can do that.
  3. Rick Joyner ignored God’s Word and convinced his followers that Bentley is fit and qualified to lead in a ministerial capacity.  The Scriptures disqualify him, therefore, Joyner did this in open rebellion and defiance of God’s Word.
  4. Just because Rick Joyner declares Bentley to be restored, doesn’t mean he is.  The holy Scriptures stands against him.
  5. I know Joyner was deeply hoping that Bentley would be restored and the public would accept him, because if he wasn’t, that would prove him (Joyner) to be a false prophet.  After all, he did prophesy longevity over Bentley at Lakeland, shortly before he fled in disgrace.  He had a strong vested interest in getting Bentley up and running again…. self preservation.

So… Joyner has turned Bentley loose, huh?

This might just get interesting.

Jeremy Lopez’s Identity Network is another gathering place for false prophets/teachers to peddle the “signs and wonders” craze. These people are all about casting their visions and prophetic word as they seek to entice as many people as possible into follow their ministries. It only makes sense that they work together to promote each other’s ministries, books, etc. This is another example of how “signs and wonders” leaders use every means available to increase their influence within this movement.

Pretty good marketing infomercial here!

The prophecy:

I love how false prophet Jeremy Lopez just goes into “prophecy” mode as requested!

I love Jeremy Lopez’s passion to see the Body of Christ encouraged. He carries a dynamic word, is extremely accurate in his prophetic ministry and is a true refreshment to those whose lives he touches.Patricia King (source)

Identity Network is doing a great job of creating a hunger and thirst for the supernatural move of the Holy Spirit. Jeremy Lopez is one of the next generation prophetic voices that God clearly has his hand on! You will receive grounded teaching, inspiring prophetic activity and get to observe integrity at work. I’ve been blessed to minister alongside Jeremy Lopez. I love his passion. I love the word of God in him and I see the love that shines through him from the Father and Jesus Christ to the body. He encourages, he exhorts and he brings comfort with clarity with his prophetic gift. You will be greatly blessed by Jeremy Lopez. – Julie Meyer, International House of Prayer (source)

IHOP and the use of prophecy

In this book,The Power of the Prophetic Spirit, Jeremy Lopez bring to the readers his revelatory insight of the prophet’s ministry. The one thing lacking within this movement is the clear Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel message is muddied by prophetic words, prophetic visions, signs, wonders, miracles, and the idea that God depends on these prophetic signs and wonders in order to get people’s attention. One steady theme seen within all these leaders’ ministries is their relentless marketing to promote themselves and to sell books, mp3’s, DVD’s etc.

Jeremiah 29:8-9 (New American Standard Bible)

8 “For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, ‘Do not let your prophets who are in your midst and your diviners deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams which they dream.

9 ‘For they prophesy falsely to you in My name; I have not sent them,’ declares the LORD.

Jesus used the media of His day to share the reality of the Kingdom with people, and He wants to empower you to do the same today!(source)

Did you know that God wants to use the media? Did you know that you can have a “media calling” from God? Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but what I see in the Bible concerning what God wants us to do is to spread the Gospel, stand for sound doctrine, obey God’s commandments, and rely only upon the Holy Spirit to draw mankind to repentance. While I agree that we should use modern methods to spread the good news about Jesus Christ, I disagree with depending on it as the tool that leads people to God. This is a classic example of a man-centered gospel that promotes the idea that somehow God needs us to help Him get His Word out and save people.

When we strip away all the talk about visions, angels worship (Colossians 2:18-19), miracles, and signs and wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10) from this movement  just what are we left with? By removing all these extra declarations and signs, the gospel message that remains is confusing at best. What’s clear is that we are left with a group of leaders peddling (1 Timothy 6:10) their own visions and self-proclaimed prophetic word.

2 Timothy 3:1-8 (New American Standard Bible)

“Difficult Times Will Come”

1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,

4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.

6 For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,

7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith.

God does want us to use our gifts and unique talents He gives us (1 Corinthians 12:1-31). There is nothing wrong with teaching people to use the gifts that God has given them. My disagreements are not with using our gifts and every tool available to spread the Gospel. My problem with this movement is its emphasis on these strange visions, false doctrines, man-centered gospel, and cult like leaders who use their status to elevate themselves to a position of a prophet.

You can learn more about your possible media calling here: God, the Media, and You! as you are being persuaded to attend New-Media Fest!

I wish the people following these false teachers/prophets would take the time to truly study the Bible instead of blindly following these leaders. Because of my belief in the power of the Holy Spirit and the effectiveness of prayer, I believe the Lord can deliver those who are being deceived by this movement (Mark 10:26-27). I ask each of you to join me and pray that God draws these false teachers/prophets to true repentance. I pray for those who are deceived by these servants of Satan and self.

1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.
